The Addition of Air Suspension
One way to significantly increase your suspension capabilities is to add airbags on top of your pre-existing leaf springs. This allows for an extra level of unprecedented strength. When set up, you’ll be able to increase and decrease the amount of compressed air in your airbags as necessary. This is a fantastic upgrade for drivers who use their light-duty diesel trucks as tow trucks or for those who tow fifth-wheel trailers.
Although there are a lot of benefits to the addition of air suspension, there are definitely a few negatives. Firstly, air suspension adds a lot of complexity, meaning there are more areas in which wear and tear can occur. For example, you now need an air compressor, compressed air lines, an air dryer, and air valves just to name a few added components.
